Jagriti – Awakening (January 21, 2001 Mexican Heritage Plaza, San Jose)
A Bharatanatyam concert whose goal was to increase awareness of domestic violence in the South Asian community. Jagriti featured: a powerful solo performance by Artistic Director Mythili Kumar dramatizing true stories of domestic violence. Abhinaya dancers portraying the aspirations and frustrations of women from Indian mythology and society.
