Preeti Bio

Preeti Vissa Kristipati brings a lifelong dedication to Bharatanatyam and a distinguished career in organizational leadership to her work in the arts and nonprofit sector.

Her relationship with Abhinaya Dance Company began in 1989, when she started her Bharatanatyam training under the guidance of Smt. Mythili Kumar. She completed her arangetram in 1999 and continued as a company dancer through 2011, performing in numerous productions including significant roles in The Power of Saturn and Rivers: A Mystical Journey. In 2006, Preeti had a featured solo performance in the Abhinaya Next Generation Concert Series. Through her training at Abhinaya, she has also had the honor of learning from Dr. C.V. Chandrasekhar and Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan, and has collaborated with leading artists including Dr. Chandrasekhar in Panchamahabhoota and San Jose Taiko in Natya Samarpan. She has over 15 years of South Indian Carnatic vocal music with Jayashree Varadarajan. 

Alongside her artistic practice, Preeti brings a distinguished career in nonprofit leadership. As Chief Operating Officer of the Greenlining Institute, she strengthened organizational systems, guided strategic change, and supported cross-disciplinary collaboration and growth. Her work spans leadership development, organizational learning, training and onboarding, strategic planning, and partnership-building across diverse community and institutional networks.

Preeti serves on the Fremont Citizens Advisory Committee, advising on Community Development Block Grant allocations, and previously served on Abhinaya Dance Company’s Board of Directors from 2019 to 2025. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA, a Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University, and is a graduate of the Rockwood Leadership Institute’s Art of Leadership program.
